Rudy Kelana Wahana Cipta Selaras
Born in Medan in 1968, Rudy Kelana got his architecture degree from Tarumanagara University, Jakarta in 1992. He established his own architecture consultant, Wahana Cipta Selaras, in 1996.
Most of Rudy Kelana’s projects are houses; one of them is “House in Ciputat”. By maximizing the potential of the contoured area which is also a plant nursery, he created the integration between indoor and outdoor space. The use of local materials such as exposed red bricks and bamboos in the design of this house blends modern architectural design with the surrounding environment. Other houses designed by Rudy Kelana are “House in Rancamaya” and “Antonius Residence”.
Besides designing houses, he collaborated with Antony Liu & Ferry Ridwan to design “Muara Kasih Nursing Home” in Bogor and “Dharmala Apartment” during 2005-2006 periods.
Rudy Kelana’s works have already been published in several architectural magazines, such as SKALA+, LARAS and Griya Asri. In 2008, “House in Ciputat” became one of the houses featured in a book titled Rumah Hijau Karya Arsitek Indonesia.
